So today I was in a baking mood, and really wanted to try out a gluten free gingerbread recipe I had found over the weekended. I had gone so far as to make my own rice flour at home.  I was so pumped and excited because I had found a gingerbread recipe my mom could eat, or so I thought (it really helps to fully read the recipe and not skim read). So I began making it and turns out it calls for sugar ( some reason I thought it called for stevia or a sugar similar to it), butter, and molasses which my mom can't eat. So I got really creative and made my own gingerbread recipe using the items I had on hand.  So here are the results!

Don't they look GOOD! I was so surprised that they actually looked like traditional cookies, they had a cookie texture and where not hard as a rock.  I was quite shocked they tasted like gingerbread cookies, because lets be honest I made this recipe up as I went, and anything could have happen.

So here is my recipe, true to Tachi form I eyeballed the measurements and just started adding stuff to the dough to make it look and smell right, (no really that is what I did)

Review of Physicians Formula mineral wear talc free blush

   So the other day I was walking in my local harris Teeter when I went down the makeup isle and low and behold  all the Physician Formula cosmetics where on sale for a whopping 40% off, rarely are there sales on Physicians formula let alone great sales. I constantly hear great things about Physicans formula comestics on youtube, and wanted to try them out for myself to see what all the hype was about. Me being the the couponing gal I am noticed that there were $3 coupons attached to the products, it felt like a sign saying go ahead splurge a little.
I decided to buy a blush, I chose the Physicians Formula mineral wear talc free airbrushing blush with a SPF 30 in the color natural.
It is a matte blush, which is very nice since I do have oily skin.

I have to say Physicians Formula packaging is very nice and sturdy. It is a little bulky, but doesn't bother me I prefer my blush packaging to by somewhat sturdy and bulky I find that the blush doesn't break nearly as easy. As has been my experience with thin packaging in the past.

The Jane Austen Heroine Quiz: who are you?

So I was reading a friends blog yesterday, countrysouth.blogspot.com and she posted where she had taken the Jane Austen Heroine quiz. I got so excited and immediately went to take the quiz. Jane Austen is one of my absolutely favorite authors. How she writes is so intriguing, witty, down to earth, and I feel you can't help but fall in love with her characters. So I had to know what character I would be.

I am Elinor Dashwood.



She is one my favorite characters from Jane Austens books. I love how Elinor is kind, loyal, discerning, and respectful and loves deeply even when it causes her great pain. She modest, temperate, and level headed.

Strawberry picking and Summer days

Yesterday my family and I went to a local farm, to pick strawberries! It was a beautiful day and thankfully overcast for the majority of the time we were out.  It was an awesome experience to spend time with my family and simply enjoy their company and experience something new with them.

Don't these strawberries look yummy and tantalizing!!

We went late in the season but were very blessed to be able to pick three bucket fulls of ripe strawberries.

 I also found some natural handmade soap which smells absolutely delicious, and 8 homemade liquorice sticks (I ate two before remembering to take a picture of them). Needless to say none of the liquorice made it home.

Summer Days make me feel so alive when I wake up and the sun is there to greet me with a kiss, yes the days are hot and often muggy and humind. But beauty beckons me to come taste and see. I am so excited for the many more Summer adventures that await me.
